My New Business!

I recently had to put writing on hold to start my own business! People have always told me that I give really thoughtful and cute gifts, goodie bags, etc. so I thought, why not make a cute gift for everyone to enjoy? That is where I came up with Lone Star Boxes. They are seasonal boxes that include essentials from Texas shops/businesses and artisans! I know how important it is to shop local and support your community. For the last couple of years, I have been studying at Southern Methodist University in Dallas & Texas has become my new home. Since I have been here, I really have not volunteered as much as I did while I lived in Miami and I knew a part of me was missing. I decided that with every new seasonal box that I create, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local Texas organization that I truly believe in. I think it is important to support local shops as well as organizations. By creating Lone Star Boxes, my hope & wish is to spread awareness to my Texas family & beyond!

The first-ever Lone Star Box, was the 2017 Holiday Box. This box includes 6 items: a Color Eye Define liner/shadow duo stick from Susan Posnick Cosmetics, a custom ‘Texas 2017’ ornament by Proper Letter, a Cinnamon or Pomegranate Cider candle from Linden Candle Co., a vanilla bean body cream and sugar scrub from Urban Hydration, as well as some other goodies from Bird Bakery & Modern Maids. The Holiday Box is $45.95 and has a value of over $85!!! A portion of the proceeds from the 2017 Holiday Box will be donated to Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support. This organization helps women & children who have been in abusive relationships. Inside each box, you will also fine a brochure with facts, tips, and contact info for Genesis Women’s. But, of course, i’ll link the website, here.

I worked really hard to make the Holiday Box, the perfect gift to give any girl. I am really proud of the way it came out! Every time I hear positive feedback, I get even more excited for the future. Be sure to look out for the Spring/Summer Box coming soon!!

Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming is always a great time at SMU- watching the Homecoming Parade, Boulevarding and of course, cheering on the Mustangs during the football game. This year, my mom and my boyfriends mom were both in town for the special weekend, for the 3rd year in a row! This weekend was also special because it was my friends 21st birthday. Overall, it was a really fun weekend, and I was surrounded by great people. My phone was always out of battery this weekend, so I didn’t take as many pictures as I wanted, but I still got some good ones.

Food & Drinks

When parents are in town, we get spoiled! It’s a fact and we can’t do anything to stop it, nor do we want to. This weekend, I ate at Nick & Sam’s, Bistro 31, Kaze Japanese Restaurant, Backyard Tx, and Knife.

What I wore…

Express black velvet bodysuit, Forever 21 faux leather skirt, Christian Louboutin gold and silver glitter heels, Chanel black mini cross-body purse

Karina Grimaldi black fringe romper, Pollini gold and black heels, YSL black patent leather clutch

Zara embroidered t-shirt dress, Ralph Lauren green suede heels (for the boulevard, switched in red cowgirl boots), Chanel black mini cross-body purse, Nocona Belt Co. bedazzled belt
